The Election

I would like to thank everyone that supported my campaign and those who voted for me yesterday. I knew I would have an uphill battle in this election running as an independent candidate. What made things even more difficult was the incumbent’s fundraising advantage of nearly 40 to 1 and having a Democratic candidate in the race didn’t help to increase our odds much either. But what probably did the most damage to the campaign were the St. Petersburg Times’ lies about me being a “White Supremist” with a racist platform.

Despite all of these things we still managed to obtain 1,888 votes in the election.

For me this race wasn’t about gaining prestige or even the salary of the position, it was about trying to bring this state off the path of self-destruction and putting it back on the path to progress. Unfortunately, Representative Legg nor the legislature is prepared to deal with the continuing economic downturn plaguing our state.

There is going to be a great deal of pain and suffering in store for Floridians and sadly the government and the mass media don’t care. The only way to mitigate the damage will be through the selfless acts of individuals not through government action. The politicians have proved to all of us that they’re more concerned with meeting the needs of the special interests and not meeting the needs of the people.

For those of you have a burning ambition to bring about positive change for the people of our state please contact me and we’ll talk.

I wish you all the very best!

Sincerely,
John J. Ubele

My Campaign Promise

I, John J. Ubele, a no party affiliation(independent) candidate in the race for State Representative District 46 promise that if I am elected that I will give 100% of my salary to the Pasco County School Board.

The money given to the school board would have no strings attached to it meaning they could spend the money as they saw fit. It is my sincerest hope that the money would help alleviate the need for any
teacher layoffs in the school district.
